Durant l'hiver 1975, à Aspres-sur-Buëch (Hautes-Alpes), Alain Willaume réalise une de ses premières photographies. Début des années 80, il constate que l’original (une diapositive Ektachrome) est introuvable, seul subsiste un petit tirage de lecture. Prenant prétexte de cette perte, il lance un appel à contributions pour créer des œuvres inspirées de la photographie. Relayé par le magazine Actuel, l’appel suscite un fort écho. Des centaines d’artistes, toutes disciplines confondues, y répondent. L’opération "SOUS-PARADIS ou la photo perdue" se conclue par une grande exposition-happening présentée en 1983 dans une friche industrielle en plein centre de Strasbourg.

During winter 1975, in Aspres-sur-Buëch (Hautes-Alpes, France), Alain Willaume achieves on of his first photographs. In the beginning of the 80’, he realizes that the original photograph (an Ektachrome film) is lost, only remains a little print.Using this lost as a pretext, he launches an opencall to create works inspired by the photograph. Relayed by the Actuel magazine, the open call arouses a strong echo. Hundreds of artists from all disciplines are answering. The « SOUS-PARADIS or the lost photograph » operation concludes by a big exhibition-happening, presented in 1983 in a industrial wasteland in the center of Strasbourg.
