FR Une artiste ruffianne. Polymorphe d’un art entremetteur, déserteur des tables de la loi. Fissurant la fausse permanence des frontières (artistiques, techniques, genrées, politiques), Barbara Hvidt lève le voile sur nos démon·e·s, les nomme pour dialoguer avec iels. Iel nous offre souvent la discrétion d’un instant (révélé) comme la possibilité d’une émancipation heureuse, sereine. Iel dessine, grave, colle, peint, met en page, dispose, conçoit, imprime pour étouffer l’universel et son cortège funèbre pour consacrer le particulier, le « presque pas-vu ».
Pour accomplir ces rites au quotidien, iel mêle joyeusement les ingrédients de l’artisan·e à ceux de l’artiste.

EN With an approach which is simultaneously both challenging and welcoming, Barbara Hvidt offers a dual perspective: at times in service of understanding and learning, at times strange and deliberately mysterious. Curious and fascinated by that which remains unexpressed, Barbara is an artist who joyfully employs a variety of styles and materials, according to the need at hand. Refusing to be held in by conventions and rules, works by Barbara come in many shapes and sizes, including illustrations, graphic design, comics, paintings, printmaking, photomanipulation, game design and the occasional piece of furniture.
